As beautiful to look at as they are to listen to, wind chimes will make a perfect gift for several members of my family this Christmas. I’ve always loved the sound of these beautiful garden ornaments. Some of them remind me of school playgrounds when I was growing up, that sound of metal striking metal when a swing set chain gets caught up in the wind. For the past few weeks, I’ve been looking for a great wind chimes sale, hoping to knock out several gifts in one fell swoop.
As I started shopping around, I was amazed at the wide variety of chimes offered both in local stores and online, at places such as TheBestofChimes.com. I had no idea you could buy precision tuned wind chimes, for example, each featuring a specific melody.
What’s more, you can listen to the music of each one online before you buy. That way, you can be sure to select the one that’s perfect for the person you have in mind. My sister just had a baby girl, so I’m planning on getting her the Lingering Lullaby chimes. The music is absolutely beautiful and a far cry from the playground clang I was remembering earlier.
There are also so many beautiful glass wind chimes available, too. They are so delicate looking and so beautiful. They don’t sound as pretty to my ear as the tuned chimes, but they are stunning works of art. Some resemble trees. Others look like boats, a palm tree, even a lighthouse. I’m thinking about a sailboat wind chime for my brother. He doesn’t own a boat yet, but he loves the water. Maybe this gift will take him to the sea in his daydreams.
